Magnetic Slime Recipe

Slime is all the rage with homemade recipes that create ooey-gooey fun! Slime comes together through chemistry. A key component of slime is glue which is made up of polymers, or strings of molecules bonded together. Adding in the liquid starch connects everything together, creating the slimy substance we all love!

Take this activity to the next level by adding iron oxide powder. Iron oxide is ferromagnetic (attracted to magnets). Bring a strong magnet (like a neodymium magnet) towards the slime and watch the slime move towards the magnet. This is a great activity for home or the classroom, and is extra fun around Halloween!
